Jerry and Karen served in pastoral ministry for 20 years. Then God began to do a new thing in their lives as they transitioned out of pastoral ministry. Beginning in 2000, Karen experienced 4 years of physical weakness and broken health when the Spirit of God began to literally pour new songs through her; and many of them were from the scriptures concerning Israel.
Then in 2004 an opportunity opened up for the worship team of Living Waters to go to Israel but the Ellard’s were not a part of the worship team at that time.
God spoke to Karen that they were going on the trip. Karen went to the worship pastor and asked about them going and he said, “A lot of people want to go on the trip…” Karen and Jerry weren’t invited. But God had spoken to Karen that they were going.
Close to the time that the Living Waters team were to depart, two of the organizers of the Israel trip came to Jerry and Karen and asked if they would like to go. They also informed them that none of the $10,000 that had been donated to send the worship team was available and they would need to raise all their own full support. Jerry and Karen said yes, knowing God had spoken.
As the Ellard’s put the word out to friends and family, so much money came in that they had an extra $1000 to share with someone else on the team that needed help with the trip.

On the trip Karen was able to release songs that God had given her as Jerry and Karen sang with the worship team in many different venues. Jerry also had several opportunities to speak using a translator.
Then, 6 months later Jerry and Karen were asked if they would like to go back to Israel to ‘fill in’ for a family that was full time sent by Living Waters.

Their son had had a dream the night before they got the call that prophesied this ministry trip. So the whole family including their son, Daniel and daughter, Julie spent 3 months in Israel where Jerry had opportunities to teach weekly (every Monday) the men at House of Victory.
They also had a home group on Wednesday of 30 to 40 people with translators for Hebrew and Russian. And on Friday they went to designated homes to take a box of food and visit and pray with those in the home through a ministry of Carmel Assembly, called Raven’s Basket.
During this time God opened up many relationships.
In 2008 they recorded their first CD entitled “Great Awakening” and sent several CD’s with a group from Living Waters headed to Israel to deliver to those designated by the Ellard’s.
God spoke to Josie Silver, from Out of Zion Ministries based out of Haifa, Israel, who had received one of the CD’s to have the Ellard’s come lead worship for their yearly Prayer Summit in Israel in 2009.
It was the worst time in all of the Ellard’s married life financially to make such a trip. But Karen, in conversation to a friend of hers, was asking for prayer and advice. This friend said, “What has God put in your heart about the trip?” Karen said, ”I believe that God wants us to go.” The lady said, “What kind of Father would he be if he asked you to do something and then didn’t supply the need?”
Upon that encouragement, and by faith, Karen contacted the Silvers and told them we would come. Within 24 hours the money came in for Karen’s flight unsolicited. Shortly after the rest of the money came in for this ministry trip.
It was during that trip in 2009 that one of the night speakers of the Prayer Summit, Hilda Chen, asked the Ellards to please pray about coming full-time to the Jerusalem Prayer Tower connected to the ministry of King of Kings Community Jerusalem..

They prayed about it and sought counsel from Pastor Joel League, Living Waters, and the Ellard’s gave their ‘yes!’ The joy of the Lord was all over us, confirming that we were following His path!
Ten months later, they put everything in storage and moved to Israel. They served there for seven years…
They did not want to leave Israel. Jerry thought that they would be there the rest of their lives. They tried many way to stay, including making trips to Germany and Poland, looking into Karen’s grandmother’s, potential Jewish lineage, with a desire to make Aliyah and have dual citizenship.
Toward the end of their allotted time on their latest visa, God spoke to Jerry and said, “It’s not that you are having to leave Israel, but I am calling you to the United States for such a time as this.” Then around the same time, he spoke to Jerry about Washington DC. Jerry had only been to Washington DC once in his life and that was for the year 2000 Lou Engle’s The Call. It wasn’t on Jerry’s radar. However, in retrospect, the Lord had laid the U.S. government and Presidential election deeply on our hearts in prayer the year before we left Israel.

Two days later they were in Tiberius, the Galilee for a celebration of their 38th wedding anniversary. While there they were having a meal with a very anointed prophetic couple. The man, Daniel, said I’ve been praying for you all for two days. And one of the first things out of his mouth was, “I see Washington DC. There was more to the prophecy, but the first part, especially rung a bell of confirmation in Jerry’s spirit.

Since we have been back from Israel, we have made about 15 trips to Washington DC where we were involved in ministry and praying on site with insight for a week to a full month at one time.
Karen has been able to release many songs in our nation’s capital for ‘God’s kingdom to come and His will to be done’ in that region. In 2018, under the instruction of the Holy Spirit, the Ellard’s have also traveled to the four corners of the United States. Where they gathered with other people to declare and sing, “Spirit of Truth Pour All Over This Nation.”
